The Samsung Opera House, houses the global electronics major’s flagship store and experience centre. Seen as a global trend setter, the covered store area covers nearly 20,000 sq. ft. and showcases the brand’s advances in consumer electronics. The brief to Brawn Globus was to bring it up to new-age construction standards, in addition to executing the landscape design strategy. This exercise in adaptive re-use comes at a time when designers, consultants and fit-out experts are judiciously using resources and the power of technology to preserve heritage buildings for posterity. Retaining the essence of brick arches punctuating the length of the heritage building, we incorporated accent lighting effects to bring to life the arcaded profile, re-envisioning it as a common hub where like-minded people can come, talk and experience technology.
